Did you know where the term '404' comes from?

 

In the early days of the web, the World Wide Web was developed at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) by Tim Berners-Lee and his team.They used a room at CERN, known as Room 404, where the main web server was housed.When someone on the network requested a webpage that didn’t exist, the team in Room 404 would respond with “File Not Found”. Over time, this error message became automated as Error 404: Not Found, paying homage to the room number.So the next time you hit a 404 error, remember it all started in a little room at CERN!
